Johnston Date: [c.1905] Description: 12 large chromolithograph plates, each approximately 32x29", affixed end to end on 6 wooden rollers (2 per roller), linen-backed and housed in a wooden frame for classroom use. Frame measures approximately 41" wide x 4¾" tall x 12½" deep. Dr. Turner served at the University of Edinburgh for 62 years, nearly 50 as an anatomy demonstrator. The charts include: Bones, Ligaments, Muscles, Heart & Arteries, Veins & Lungs, Organs of Digestion, Nervous System, Organs of Sense & Voice, Effects of Alcohol on the Body, Effects of Tobacco on the Body, Cause of Typhoid Fever & Consumption, Cause of Malaria or Ague. Lot Amendments Condition: All with some wear and soiling but overall in very good condition, not likely that this survived in great numbers in any condition. Item number: 250343
