From the artist's family estate. This is the first time this significant set of four vases has come onto the art market. Šotola represented Czechoslovakia at prestigious exhibitions, such as EXPO 1958 in Brussels, EXPO 1967 in Montreal, and Glass 1959 in the Corning Museum of Glass (USA). Around the mid-1970s Šotola's austerity gave way to a more decorative expression with his work on richly through cut, colored laminated glass. His work is represented in numerous art collections, including the National Gallery in Prague.
