Fairbrother" at head of title and with his engraved bookplate loosely inserted, light staining to title, occasional soiling, short tear to O1 without loss, contemporary calf, slightly rubbed, small worn patch to upper cover, rebacked preserving old morocco label, [Beddie 1608], 8vo, Dublin, for Messrs. Price [& others], 1781. ⁂ The first Dublin edition of the first published account of Cook's last voyage, preceding the authorized version by three years. The text is a reprint of the second London edition of the same year with corrections and some plates reversed. Rickman was second lieutenant on the Discovery. The frontispiece depicts the death of Cook.
