Nice edition, illustrated, accented and correct, of this important guide of Italy. The work, accompanied by an imposing iconographic apparatus, is one of the best travel books published in the eighteenth century. The tables, most of which are folded, depict city plants, prospective views, monuments, church interiors, festive scenes. Among the monuments are those of ancient Rome; among the descriptions of parties, particularly scenic those depicting the naval games and the Carnival of Venice.
