It was edited by Condorcet (whose biography of Voltaire opens the final vol. 92), financed by Beaumarchais, and printed by Decroix from type bought from Baskerville. It was the 1st to include Voltaire’s voluminous correspondence, and formed the basis of all subsequent editions.
