Contemporary speckled calf (spine chipped at head and foot). Provenance : Sir Hans Sloane (1660-1753, bookplate); Histoire de l'empire de Russie sous Pierre le Grand. 1759-63. 2 volumes, 8° (185 x 115mm.). First title in red and black, engraved frontispiece to vol.I and two folding maps (hand-coloured in outline but torn and repaired), woodcut decorations and one illustration. Later green straight-grained morocco gilt, g.e (spines a little discoloured); L'Ingénu, histoire veritable, tirée de manuscrits du Père Quesnel. Geneva: 1767. Bound with: La Défense de mon oncle. 1767. 2 works in one volume, 8° (208 x 126mm.). (Some light browning.) Contemporary calf (extremities rubbed, joints split); La Princesse de Babilone.
