Each vol. with a specially printed title-page, the original title-page bound into Vol. 1. Extra-illustrated (most plates inlaid size), with approx. 26 autograph letters signed, documents signed, autograph letters in the third person, numerous portraits of those mentioned in the text, and a folding political panorama in color by R. Doyle (a small amount of faint browning to some upper margins). Contemporary blue morocco, gilt-panelled, spine gilt-lettered, g.e., red morocco doublures, ivory watered silk liners (front cover detached from Vol. I). Provenance : Frederick S. Peck (armorial bookplate); Stephen M. Dryfoos (red morocco gilt bookplate). FIRST EDITION, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED WITH NUMEROUS PLATES AND AUTOGRAPHS. The autograph material includes an early ALS by Queen Victoria, 2 pp., May 25, 1830, as well as autograph letters signed by the Duke of Cumberland, the Duke of Kent, the Duke of Sussex, Queen Adelaide, and document signed by William IV and Victoria, Duchess of Kent.
