Contemporary Italian mottled sheep, ruled in blind around covers, spine with gilt ornaments (small wormholes). The triumphal arches designed for the Empress's entry into Vicenza were designed by Vicenzo Scamozzi (1552-1616), with the introductory epistle by Ludovico Roncone, who also wrote a letter and sonnet for the 1600 edition of Serlio's works. All the drawings in this album bear the initials of Ottavio Bertotti-Scamozzi (1719-1790) as copier or designer, and have the artist's initials 'GV'. The introduction ends with a note locating the original manuscript of the first work with Antonio Zago of Vicenza. Bertotti-Scamozzi's description of his triumphal arch was published in 1758 with 4 engraved plates (Cf. Berlin Kat. 3266).
