Contemporary full mottled calf, spine decoratively tooled and stamped in gilt, red and tan morocco lettering labels, five raised bands, all edges stained red, marbled endpapers. Condition: some slight staining and foxing, some leaves slight browned, minor tears; spine and extremities slightly rubbed. Provenance: M. Rodolph de Castella and La Comtesse R. de Castella (bookplates). [With:] D, Monsieur. Méthode facile pour apprendre l’histoire de France, avec une idée générale des sciences. Paris: Chez Charles le Clerc, 1719. 8vo (165 x 88mm). Engraved fold out map, chapter head and tail pieces and engraved vignettes throughout. Contemporary full mottled calf, spine decoratively tooled in gilt in compartments, red morocco lettering label stamped in gilt, five raised bands, all edges speckled red. Condition: some slight foxing and browning to leaves, some plates trimmed on portraits; extremities slight rubbed.
