The lockplate is marked U.S. Springfield with an eagle marking. With ramrod bayonet and Buffington rear sight. Walnut stock with SWP 1891 cartouche and circle P proof behind triggerguard. The butt of the stock is marked 8 NY 749 on the top flat, and 8 359 on the right side. The compartment in the buttstock includes the broken shell extractor, but is missing the other tool. With leather sling. Condition: The barrel has a nice uniform plum patina. The breechblock and tang have some of the original case colors, but display some spotting throughout. The lock plate has some fading to the blue. The stock has some nicks and dings consistent with use, with crisp markings. The leather is in good condition. The bore is clean and in good condition.
