.54 caliber, 8.5" barrel, no S/N. Bright finish, brass furniture, walnut stock. Single shot percussion pistol. Standard Aston lock markings, dated 1847 at the tail with weak matching 1847 date on tang. Breech with US / JH / P inspection and with a clear WAT cartouche on the counterpane. Retains original swivel ramrod. Condition: Good. Metal cleaned in the past and now with a dull brown, evenly oxidized patina and some scattered pinpricking. Most markings clear, with the barrel date and "US" at the breech weak, but legible. Mechanically functional, fair bore is heavily rusted but might clean up. Brass with an untouched dark mustard patina. Stock crisp with good cartouche and scattered handling marks, bumps and dings.
