Beschreibung:

.45 Colt caliber, 7.5" barrel, S/N 49562 (mfg. ca 1879). Blued and color case hardened finish, walnut grip. Matching numbers throughout, including grip. Loading gate assembly numbered 1282. Bold block letter Type III barrel address with double lines under the "o" in "Co", correct for serial number range 47,000-50,500. The expected broken "T" serif in "PT" is present in the barrel marking. Three dates in three-line frame marking with U.S. stamp. Sub-inspected throughout by Henry Nettleton with HN marks in appropriate locations, along with various small Colt factory sub-inspections. Correct 2nd pattern ejector housing with bullseye ejector, military pattern cone firing pin hammer with slightly shorter than standard checkering on the hammer spur, similar to that noted by Kopec on revolver #48,8728. Hammer bears an HN inspection as well. Grip with traces of cartouches and a barely legible 1879 date above cartouche on the left grip. Henry Nettleton inspected Cavalry single actions are rather scarce, as he only inspected for a very short period of time in two very narrow serial number ranges. Condition: Good. Cleaned with no finish, showing a bright pewter patina with scattered light pitting, numerous small dents and intact marks, but retaining relatively clear and legible markings. Not mechanically functional, mainspring is broken. Bore good with moderate pitting. Grip worn with added finish, numerous bumps, dings and mars and weak cartouches that are not legible.
