Appleton and Company Date: 1912 Description: Two volumes. xvi, 580; ix, 582 pp. Frontispiece portraits of the author. (8vo) full blue cloth, gilt spine and cover titles and cover decoration; t. e. g. First Edition. Wilson graduated 6th in his class at West Point in 1860 and went on to lead one of the most celebrated raids in the history of the Civil War and defeating the notorious Nathan Bedford Forrest. He was a U. S. Army topographic engineer and a Union Army Major General in the American Civil War. Lot Amendments Condition: Extremities worn; few marginal tears; frontispieces and title pages toned; very good. Lots sold without reserve are sold “as Is” and are not returnable under any circumstances.
