.54 cal., 8.5" round barrel with swivel ramrod. Left side of barrel with sub-inspector's initials. Lockplate marked U.S R. Johnson, Middltn Ct 1837. Walnut stock with steel furniture. Condition: All metal has a nice dark brown patina with some flecking of darker brown. Markings are sharp and clear; left side of stock with nice cartouche. Stock has a crack through on both sides in front of triggerguard.
