Leather band encompassing the base of the hat with two brass infantry buttons on each side. Interior with black leather brow band and silver crest maker's stamp Military Society Goods The Henderson Ames Co Kalamazoo, Mich. Overall height 9.5". [See Campbell, 2004: 303.] Condition: Crown of hat is a replacement. Some abrasions in the beaver skin, but ca 95% present.
