Title: Two vintage photographs of Marion Davies taken by James Manatt Author: ** Place: Hollywood, CA Publisher: James Manatt Date: [c.1930's] Description: 2 sepia-tone gelatin silver-print photographs taken by noted Hollywood still photographer James Manatt. Both of Marion Davies wearing the same elaborate white dress and leaning against a short pillar. Both measure 13¼x10¼". James Manatt is considered one of the significant early still photographer's during Hollywood's glamour era of the 1930's. His early film work includes The Wet Parade (1932) and Tugboat Annie (1933). Manatt's Hollywood studio embossed imprint on the bottom right corner of each. Lot Amendments Condition: Edge unevenly cut (as issued), occasional slight creases around edges, else fine. Item number: 158891
