(6½x8½"). Jun 26, 030. TLS from Charmian London to Mildred Taylor, 1½ pp. on both sides of a sheet of letterhead 32x20 cm. (12¾x8). June 25, 1934. In the first letter, the widow of author Jack London, thanks Blanding Sloan "for sending me notice of your exhibition. I'd love to see it, but I am 500 miles away. I should especially like to be in Los Angeles in the immediate future..." In the second, longer letter, to Mildred Taylor, Charmian apologizes for the delay in responding to an earlier letter ("I tangled up with a tree and a horse... and went to hospital...") and discusses ideas about a Jack London park with activities, and also mentions art projects. She ends by declaring, even at the beginning of the Nazi era, that "I am tired so, these latter years, with Germany for some time keeping my main income there. One misses it! I have no cook, no housekeeper, no secretary..." Lot Amendments Condition: Both in very good condition. Item number: 247187
