Two Sevres bleu celeste ornithological bowls Print 1768, each with blue intertwined ''L'' maker's marks centering date letter ''P'', the first with incised potter's mark ''LP'' for Louis-Alexander-Auguste Paulin (active 1766-1800), the second with incised potter's mark ''gp'' for Gratien Poulain (active 1758-1777), each with a bleu celeste-ground exterior reserved with white gilt-highlighted cartouches each centering two distinct bird specimens depicted within a landscape, each reserve with inscribed title in black to underside of foot, the first: ''faisant pigeon de la chine'', ''Le martin picheur du nord colibri'' and ''Le Ducet lapie des judes''; the second: ''CouCouver de Cayenne / Le colibri'', ''La pompadour / perruche aux ailes rouge'' and ''moucherole / La jaseuse de la Caroline'', each with a gilt-highlighted bleu celeste interior reserved with three white-ground cartouches each centering a floral bouquet, 2 pieces, each: 3.5'' H x 9.75'' Dia., Provenance: Estate of Andrew F. Chandler. Condition: Each in overall good condition, with general minor scuffs, light surface scratches and rubbed wear and losses to gilt decoration commensurate with considerable age. Scattered touch-ups to gilt paint. The second with an approximately .25'' x .25'' area of restoration to ring foot with a corresponding 1'' x .25'' area of overpaint.
