Two late 19th-Century microscopes and a quantity of cased accessories, including: a black-enamelled and lacquered-brass compound monocular "Service" microscope stamped W.Watson & Sons, Ltd London no. 62082, with draw-tube, rack and pinion and micrometer focusing, triple nosepiece, substage condensor and diaphragm with rack and pinion adjustment and plano-concave mirror, the curved limb raised on a Y-shaped foot, with three eyepieces, Watson , , 2/3 and 2in. objectives in labelled plastic canisters and three other in brass canisters, a graduated micrometer attachment and other items, in a mahogany carrying case with leather handle -- 37cm. (14½in.) high ; a lacquered-brass compound monocular microscope, signed J. Amadio, 7 Throgmorton St. London , with rack and pinion focusing and concave substage mirror, the main limb tilting between uprights from the Y-shaped foot, with three objectives, stage forceps and bull's-eye, live box and a quantity of glass sliders, in a mahogany carrying case with brass handle -- 33.3cm. (13 1/8in.) ; a table-standing bull's-eye condensor on an ebonised brass base with a sprung-screw adjustment; a Watson "Student" mechanical stage attachment; a large angled eyepiece; a Watson holoscopic paraboloid and stop; a Cheshire's apertometer; a circular stage attachment; a microtome; a slide-making table; stage and eyepiece micrometers; a box of twenty ( of twenty-four ) slide preparations with Paris 1967 labels; an empty box with trays for seventy-two slides and a quantity of unused slides; and a folder containing seven trade catalogues for Watson, Swift, Bausch and Lomb and Zeiss.
