The dignitary depicted in the group with boys possibly represents the God of Fortune (福星 fuxing). He is often seen with a boy, or a scroll, sometimes surrounded by children such as the present lot. See a related famille verte model of the God of Wealth, Kangxi, illustrated by S.G.Valenstein, A Handbook of Chinese Ceramics, London, 1989, pl.222.
Compare the figure of official with a related famille verte figure of a Daoist Immortal, Kangxi, which was sold at Christie's New York, on 15 September 2016, lot 894.
