Lot of 24 sixth plate portraits of men with beards and other facial hair of note. Grouping consists of twenty daguerreotypes, three ambrotypes, and one tintype, most of which are housed in full pressed paper of thermoplastic cases, with two under mat and glass only. Images of note include those of a man with a curly mustache and beard seated in three-quarter views, a dark-haired gentleman with large hands seated beside a table with a book, a man with confident bearing and a neck-beard, a man with a frizzy beard and wide, dark cravat, a remarkably handsome man with a pensive expression, and a goateed man with a unibrow. Also with daguerreotypes of a man with lustrous hair with velvet pad stamped for M. Moses Gallery, as well as a man with fastidiously trimmed sideburns, identified as "Joseph G. / Chapman / First husband / of Julia A. Shute."
