Two Daguerreotypes: Boston School, 19th Century, Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Man in Three-quarter View, in an embossed leather case, and School of Southworth & Hawes (American, fl. 1843-1863), Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Man, possibly from the Norcross Family, in a black leather push-button case. Condition: The first is tarnished, split case, worn and abraded, cover faded, case opening up at l.l. corner, missing clasp, minor accretions on brass mat, silk pad and velvet liner faded and worn; the second has minor tarnish, chemical inconsistencies in left side of background, case gently worn; not examined out of cases. Provenance: A private New England collection.
