Two 19th Century American School Daguerreotypes: Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Child, and Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Mother and Child, both in embossed leather cases. Condition: The first has a slight bend in plate c.l., brown accretions, worn and abraded case, velvet pad and liner faded; the second has minor tarnish, light scratches u.c. and c.l., partially detached case, worn at corners and edges, case opening at u.l. corner, scattered areas of corrosion on brass mat; not examined out of cases. Provenance: A private New England collection.
