London: Sampson, Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington, 1877. 2 volumes, 8vo. Half-title, photograph portrait mounted frontispiece in volume I, tipped-in letter signed by Burnaby. (Tears, creasing and chipping to a couple folding maps, hinge starting.) Publisher's green pictorial and gilt-stamped cloth, edges uncut (spine ends chipping with associated losses, lower joint on volume II splitting, rubbed). FIRST EDITION SIGNED BY BURNABY. -- STAUNTON, George (1781-1859). An Historical Account of the Embassy to the Emperor of China...Including the Manners and Customs of the Inhabitants &c. London: John Stockdale, 1797. 8vo. Numerous engraved plates and maps. (Spotting and offsetting, scant soiling to text leaves, with some affecting text.)
