1p, 8 x 8.5 in. Papers for transfer of 1949 Oldsmobile Club Sedan to Jack L. Ruby from Johnnie Lee Wilson and the Lone Star Olds-Cadillac Co. Transfer date 10 -25-49. Also signed by A.D. Dallas and E.A. Ruby(?). Jack Ruby at the time listed his occupation as Silber [sic - Silver] Spur Nite Club. Jack Ruby, of course, was watched by millions of Americans on live television as he shot Lee Harvey Oswald in the basement of the Dallas police headquarters as Oswald, just charged with the assassination of President Kennedy, was being transferred to the county jail. Ruby was convicted of murder with malice and sentenced to death. Ruby's lawyers argued to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals that he could not have received a fair trial in Dallas. The Court agreed, and in October 1966 ruled that Ruby should receive a new trial in a different venue, overturning the conviction and death sentence. Jack Ruby died 3 January 1967 of a pulmonary embolism secondary to metastasized lung cancer before the new trial could take place. He always maintained that there was a conspiracy under the surface of Kennedy's assassination, which was why he had to assassinate the assassin, but on his deathbed, he said he acted alone. He also swore that he was injected with cancer cells while in prison, under the guise of being treated for a cold. We will probably never know what Ruby thought he knew (rightly or wrongly). Condition: Excellent condition with clear signatures.
