Babylonian Talmud – Tractates Chulin, Erchin, Tmurah, Kritot, and Meila. Frankfurt am Main, 1720-1724. Many glosses, some signed by Rabbi Aharon Gunzehausen, who also signed his name on the title-page of Tractate Tmurah. Other tractates contain signatures of Yoel ben R' Feivel Fahn [of Hamburg] and other signatures. (One owner mentions that Rabbi Aharon Gunzehausen is his uncle – see inscription at beginning of Tractate Tamid). Rabbi Aharon Gunzehausen was one of the rabbis of the Hamburg kloiz in the 18th century, and also dayan in the city. Son of Rabbi Yitzchak Gunzehausen, who was one of the five members of the "New Kloiz" founded by Rabbi Yehonatan Eibeschutz, as a result of the "disputation" with Rabbi Ya'akov Emden. See about them in enclosed material. 177; 38; 36; 32; 43 leaves. 33 cm. High-quality paper. Good-fair condition, few moth holes, margins are worn from use, and have old paper restorations. Original leather and wooden binding, illuminated with etchings with remainders of ornaments; unoriginal cloth spine. Worn binding.
