Set of four unique dining chairs with birch frame. Seat and back upholstered with brown Niger leather, fitted with black nails. Made 1935 for Illums. (4) Provenance: Made on special order for Mr Torkov's own home. Torkov was dept. head for furniture at Illums in the 1930s. He was probably the designer as well. Literature: “Bygge og Bo”, 2. vol., 1935, part 3, ill. and referred to p. 21. This lot is subject to Artist's Royalty . Extensive patina and signs of use including surface marks and scratches. Leather with wear due to age and use including stains, surface crackles and marks. Few nails missing. One seat with glued tear in leather.
