To itte's owne Tune herein sette ffoorth, one of only 15 copies, signed presentation copy from the author to his closest friend inscribed "For Charles Keene Esq." at head of title, woodcut plate, engraved sheet of music with partial hand-colouring, a few small spots from colouring on title and the two plates, one leaf with short tear to fore-edge, note in the author's hand "15 Copies printed at Morpeth in 1860 by - Joseph Crawhall - the first of an intended series of Ballads & relating to Northumberland & the Border" on front free endpaper, woodcut bookplate of Charles Keene (by Crawhall), contemporary dark blue calf ruled and stamped in blind, g.e., a little rubbed, 8vo, n.p., [1860]. *** Crawhall's extremely scarce second book. Although 15 copies were printed, only 13 copies were available separately as two were bound in the copies of The Compleatest Angling Booke presented to his wife and daughter Elspeth. Charles Keene (1823-91), artist and illustrator, particularly for Punch.
