First Edition. Second issue according to BAL and Woodbridge, with the tipped-in title page; Merle Johnson, however, states that the title page was always on a stub, or at least all the copies he examined. Johnson was apparently incorrect on this point. PBA Galleries offered a copy with an integral title page in November 2007. This copy with a vintage copy-photograph of London tipped to front endpaper, one of his bookplates tipped to the verso of the same leaf which is also inscribed by Jack London's stepsister: "To my dear friend Mrs. Douglas, We are so happy to have had you visit our "Valley of the Moon." We hope you learned to love it as we love Jess. Eliza London Shepard, Jack London Ranch, Aug 21, 1932." BAL 11896; Sisson & Martens, p. 29.
