Title: Don Juan Author: Byron, George Gordon Noel, Lord Place: London Publisher: Thomas Davison/John Hunt Date: 1819-1824 Description: 6 volumes in 3. (8vo) 8½x5¼, period diced calf with wide outer gilt dentelles, rebacked with calf, spines tooled & lettered in gilt, marbled page edges. First Complete Edition (i.e., first 8vo editions of Vols. I & II, first editions of Vols. III-VI. Lord Byron's most famous work, the first two volumes were first published in quarto, before the publisher decided on switching to octavo, in which format the first two volumes were reprinted, and the subsequent volumes issued. With the bookplates of F.W. Dohrman, Jr., on front free endpapers; small, engraved labels of Mr. Fred. C. Pawle on endpaper versos. Lot Amendments Condition: Some rubbing and wear to covers, but still quite attractive; just a few stray fox marks within, very good or better. Item number: 167587
