Title: Blind Fireworks Author: MacNeice, Louis Place: London Publisher: Victor Gollancz Date: 1929 Description: 7¼x5, cream canvas (or cloth) over boards, printed green paper spine label lettered in black, original printed jacket. First Edition. One of only 1000 copies printed. Author's rare and important first book in the first issue cream canvas over boards (later issued in black cloth). Contains forty-four poems on seventy-four pages of text. MacNeice (1907–1963) a British and Irish poet and playwright, was part of the "thirties poets" generation, which included W. H. Auden, C. Day Lewis, etc. Hayward 342; Armitage & Clark A1a. Lot Amendments Condition: Jacket and volume spine a bit darkened, short tears, mild rubbing; light foxing to volume; minor offsetting to free endpapers; a near fine copy in a very good and exceedingly scarce jacket.
