each item appears to be in generally good, used condition; typical wear and dulling to the patina; gilding is quite uniformly worn; no apparent losses to any of the abalone inlay and the inlaid abalone pieces feel flush to the touch, i.e., none are raised as when they have fallen out and been reglued or replaced; the inkstand has a colorless inkwell/liner, which appears to be a later replacement; hinge on inkstand small box and pad holder appear to be in good working condition; the desk calendar does not have any of the calendar sheet inserts; the easel back on the calendar appears to be in good condition; the small rectangular stamp box is now missing its insert, i.e., double well to hold stamps; there is extensive gilding loss to the pen handle; the bristle brush is loose in the pen brush and would benefit by being reglued
