Tiffany Studios Bronze and Favrile Glass Twelve-Light Pond Lily Lamp First quarter of the 20th century The naturalistic base comprised of a cluster of slightly bulging pond lily stems with downturned necks ending in pronged light sockets and ribbed lily blossom shades, in translucent amber colored glass, gold iridized, each signed L.C.T. Favrile, continuing to a shaped circular foot comprised of overlapping lily pads, interlocking stems and buds, stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 382. Shades: each appears to be in generally good condition: no apparent rim chips, hairline cracks, etc.; one shade, however, does have a very small almost imperceptible short vertical hairline in the glass, approximately 1/8-inch in length, originating at the fitter rim edge, not of any real consequence and visible under a strong flashlight source; there are variations to the blossom shapes: some examples have more defined ribbing or greater ruffling to the bottom areas; other shades have a plainer circular appearance at the bottom; this difference is also reflected in differences in size of the shades: the largest outer diameter of one of the "ruffled" shades is 3 1/8 inch whereas one of the smaller shades with a "circular" bottom has an outer diameter of 2 1/2 inches; there are some variations to the signatures indicating the shades have been "assembled;" some shades exhibit areas with deep pink and purple iridescence whereas other shades are more uniformly gold iridized; one shade has some linear marks to the iridized exterior, apparently in the making, and not of any consequence; Base: appears to be in generally good condition; no apparent losses to any of the individual flat "fingers" or prongs that secure the glass shades into place; appears to retain each of the original white ceramic or porcelain light socket sleeves, which also appear to be in undamaged condition; these sleeves are signed BRYANT; the original on/off light switch is missing and has been replaced with a later black molded plastic switch marked H & H; the patina is mottled brown and green; there are a few scattered and clustered mold/mildew spots; dulling the patina, most notably in the area of the stem cluster; other ares of patina have possibly been previously waxed (shiny/oily appearance); has been re-wired
