Highlights include: photographs taken during Charles Lindbergh's visits to British Honduras in 1927 and 1929, including a photograph of Lindbergh and Sir Burdon on the staircase of the Governor House signed "C.A. Lindbergh" in black ink; a group portrait of Lindbergh, Burdon and others on the same staircase; a picture of the 'Spirit of St Louis' before landing in the British Honduras on December 30th, 1927; wear to edges, age toning, some loose images, c. 1910s-1920s. (3) After completing the first non-stop flight from New York to France in May 1927, Lindbergh boarded his monoplane 'Spirit of Saint Louis' for a goodwill tour, visiting several countries of Central America, landing in Belize on December 30th, 1927. He was welcomed warmly by the Governor Sir John Burdon and attended celebrations and receptions in his honour. Lindbergh's second trip to Central America began in February 1928, being the inauguration flight of Pan American's mail service to the Caribbean countries. Aboard a new Sikorsky S-36 twin-engined amphibian, Lindbergh arrived in Belize at 2.55 on February 4th, with Pan Am president Juan Trippe as a passenger. They departed at 9.10 am on the following day.
