1930s, pen and ink and watercolor on paper, comprising a Happy Birthday card with Mickey Mouse from the Mason family; another Happy Birthday card with Mickey Mouse sitting on a man’s lap pulling his hair inscribed My Pal, Happy Birthday Nephew Bill; a welcome home card with Mickey Mouse in the center; and thirteen other pieces of cartoon art, some done in pencil and others done in watercolor, mostly done by Bill Mason. Bill Mason began his career as an animator with the Disney Studios in the early 1930s and worked on several animated shorts such as Babe in the Woods 1932 and Spider and the Fly 1931. He then left Disney to go and work for Walter Lanz Productions and produced quite a few shorts in 1935 such as Candyland, Springtime Serenade, Three Lazy Mice, Bronco Buster, Quail Hunt and Fox and the Rabbit, just to name a few. 7 x 7 1/2in the largest Mickey drawing
