Three mahogany tripod pole screens last quarter 19th century one mounted with a Berlin Woolwork needlework panel, second half 19th century, worked in tent stitch depicting a vase of flowers set in an architectural niche on a ledge, inspired by 17th century Dutch still life paintings, with later red linen backing; another mounted with a framed and glazed Victorian armorial banner, second half 19th century, worked in polychrome silks and silver and gilt metal threads with a raised central British Royal coat-of-arms bearing the motto `Honi Soit qui Mal y Pense', 'Dieu et Mon Droit', coronet and initials V, and R, flanked by two cherubs, all enclosed within cartouche of trail of strapwork and rose and thistle sprigs, on a crimson floral damask ground, with three sided metal thread fringe; and another mounted with a marine watercolour, with figures on a beach with distant ships, the backing of red silk (backing in distressed condition) (3) the floral screen; 170cm. high, 5ft.7in.; the Coat of Arms screen 141cm. high, 4ft.7½in.; and the watercolour screen; 147cm. high, 4ft.10in.
