London: J. Johnston, 1817. 8vo. (9 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches, 235 x 140 mm). Hand-colored frontispiece and 24 hand-colored plates. Full burgundy calf by Zaehnsdorf, covers triple-ruled in gilt, spine in 6 compartments with two green morocco lettering labels in gilt and 4 compartments tooled in gilt, 5 raised bands, gilt board edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Condition: Wear to extremities, headband chipped, offset to enpaspers, early writing to verso of first plate (fading). [With:] Johnstone, Charles (1719-1800). Chrysal; or the Adventures of a Guinea . London: Printed for Hector M’Lean by Howlett and Brimmer, 1821. 3 vols. 8vo. (8 1/4 x 5 inches, 210 x 127 mm). With 15 hand-colored full page engraved plates by W. Read Bound by Wood of London in full pebbled crimson morocco, covers ruled with floral cornerpieces in gilt, spine paneled with floral motif in gilt in 4 compartments, lettered in gilt in two compartments, gilt board edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, t.e.g., ownership stamp to verso of front free endpaper.
