9pp., 8vo & 4to, 16th May 1946 - 22nd November 1954, one making references to Dylan Thomas on a lecture tour in New York in 1952, “I havent much chance to settle down. I seem to have been followed by a horde of old friends. To begin with, Cathleen Raine, Sydney Graham, David Gascoyne; then Dylan [Thomas]; then Victoria Kingsley mit guitar. Went to Dylan’s first reading at Y. end March. The little gathering afterwards was a bit off - so I advised Dylan to try the White Horse Tavwrn [Tavern], which has become his night haunt ever since. Dylan was very sober and serious at beginning - on whole. Dylan has been working like a Trojan - average of five or six readings a week and a lot of travelling. But was already worrying about finances before leaving for California - said ‘Kathleen is a good spender too!’ Cathleen says dinner at home gives her claustrophobia. She’s been going to town herself in quite a Dylan way it seems - mainly with strange little people. Well, back from California, they seem to arrive at loggerheads. Succession of scenes - Kathleen refusing to go home. Saying she’s had enough of Dylan, etecetera. Perhaps its the Californian girls that caused the trouble. Hope it all blows over.
