Fine Thomas Douglass (Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania), full stock flintlock long rifle, approximately .44 caliber, having a tiger maple stock with twenty-seven German silver geometric inlays, engraved brass three-piece patch box, with brass trigger guard, crescent butt plate and nose cap, the barrel inscribed T. Douglass within a rectangle, having three areas of foliate scroll engraving including the muzzle, the lock inscribed London Warranted, set triggers, 39" octagonal barrel. The rifle has an early hand-written ink tag stating that this rifle was made for and belonged to Gen. Sam Harrod, a large land owner and used in the Indian days... So. Solon Ohio. General Harrod was a Brigadier General from Clark County, Ohio in the War of 1812. Condition: Overall excellent condition, with great patina and surface, hairline crack from nose cap back to first inlay, lock does not stay cocked.
