288 in all, including the souvenir for the Royal Performance at the Palace Theatre, with “The Story of the Music Hall” by Henry George Hibbert, portraits, original stiff wrappers, soiled, folio , 1912; the remainder mainly for plays staged in the London theatres, over 100 from the 1930’s including contemporary plays by Terrence Rattigan, Ivor Novello, Noel Coward, and others, Andre Charlot’s revues, Marie Rambert’s Season of Ballet, the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, musicals, and variety programmes, two featuring Maurice Chevalier, the majority illustrated with portraits, two with cover designs by Rex Whistler ; the later examples with a similar range of interest, including a few large souvenirs, the majority dated by hand on upper covers, some with manuscript comments; together with an early ink cover design depicting Mr. Lewis Waller as Monsieur Beaucaire, various sizes , 1912-1979.
