Attractive set of the works of the great man of letters, including the historically significant "Astoria or, Anecdotes of an Enterprise beyond the Rocky Mountains," with a folding map; "The Adventures of Captain Bonneville, U.S.A. in the Rocky Mountains and the Far West," also with a folding map; "The Life and Voyages of Christopher Columbus," with two folding maps; and more. With ink inscription in Volume I, "To Mrs. J.M. Page, D. Ogden Mills." The presenter would be Darius Ogden Mills (1825-1910), a prominent American banker and philanthropist who, for a time, was California's wealthiest citizen. Most of the volumes with ink ownership signature of Mary Page on the front flyleaf. Lot Amendments Condition: Some rubbing to joints and extremities; light foxing within; very good.
