Renouard Date: 1795 Description: [4], 181, [4], 28 pp. Frontispiece copper-engraved portrait of Franklin. 6x3¾, early quarter morocco & boards. First Edition printed in France. A beautifully printed edition of Franklin's Poor Richard, with the text consecutively in English & French; also included are several private letters printed here for the first time, "Dialogue Entre La Goutte et Franklin," and "Quelques Mots sur L'Amérique Avis a Ceux qui Voudroient Aller s'établir Dans Cette Contrée." The final 28 pages are "Observations sur les Sauvages du nord de l'Amérique." Ford 1757; Sabin 25596. Formerly in the Cape Vincent Community Library, with rubberstamps in the lower margins of pp. 3 & 77, and to the rear pastedown; also, remains of pocket to rear pastedown, old shelf label affixed to front pastedown, spine number in white ink. Lot Amendments Condition: Rubbing to joints and spine ends; front hinge cracking at title, light offset to title, a little aging within, very good. Item number: 169833
