THE SIR PERCY COX NEFAN IMPORTANT GEORGE V PARCEL-GILT SILVER NEF MARK OF OMAR RAMSDEN LONDON, 1922 Modeled as a 15th century three-masted merchant ship with standing and running rigging and set sails, with a silver-gilt planked hull, chased with various coats-of-arms, the sails chased with a further coat-of-arms, supported on a bronze base, modeled as waves, all resting on an oblong wood base, with applied copper corners, two engraved with an inscription, fully marked and engraved on the side 'OMAR RAMSDEN ME FECIT MCMXXIII' The nef 27 in. (68.5 cm.) long 181 oz. (5,630 gr.) The arms are those of Sir Percy Zachariah Cox. The inscriptions read: 'SIR P. Z. COX, G.C.M.G., G.C.I.E., K.C.S.I., QUI PER XX ANNOS MAXIMA CUM PRUDENTIA INTER GENTES ORIENTALES' and 'TAM IN PACE QUAMIN BELLORES PATRIAE PRAECLARE DIREXIT MERCATORES BRITANNICI HAUD IMMEMORES D.D.'
