Contemporary light brown morocco gilt by Douglas Cockerell signed 'D.C. & SONS 1930' on the lower turn-in, the covers divided into a grid of rectangles by blind-stamped roll-tooled bands with gilt crosses at the intersections, the upper cover with an inlaid dark brown morocco cross, outlined with gilt roll-tooled bands, and blind-tooled with an Anglo-Saxon design of interlacing strapwork, the lower cover with the 2 central rectangles blind-tooled with an Anglo-Saxon design of interlacing strapwork outlined with gilt roll-tooled bands within a panel formed by a gilt roll-tooled band, both covers with gilt roll-tooled band borders, the spine gilt in 6 compartments divided by raised bands, lettered in gilt in the upper 2 and at the foot, the other compartments decorated with gilt- and blind-tooled Anglo-Saxon interlacing strapwork designs, turn-ins roll-tooled in gilt and blind, top edge gilt, others uncut (extremities very lightly rubbed).
