THE PROPERTY OF MR. RICHARD ROSS OF DEACON BLUE SOLD ON BEHALF OF EDINBURGH DIRECT AID 1966 JAGUAR S-TYPE 3.4 LITRE FOUR DOOR SALOON Registration No. PRP 21D Chassis No. 1B5557DN Engine No. 7B6321-8 Green with green leather interior. Engine: six cylinder, double overhead camshaft, 3,442cc, 210bhp at 5,500rpm; Gearbox: four speed manual with overdrive; Brakes: four wheel disc; Suspension: independent. Right hand drive. Jaguar launched their new medium size car in 1956, the model collectively now known as the Mark I Saloon. These had a 2.4 litre engine which was subsequently developed and before long both 3.4 and 3.8 litre versions were available; the Mark II was soon to follow. The S-Type 3.4 litre model was given a re-designed grille with thinner bumpers and hooded headlights. The indicators were now fully integrated and the overall effect was much smoother than the standard Mark II. The rear was given a larger boot, accommodating more luggage, and the car had twin fuel tanks. This is a 1966 model which has been in its present ownership since May 1991. On file is a list of owners dating back to 1966 and it appears that the present recorded keeper is in fact the seventh registered owner of the car. The indicated mileage at present stands at 83,327. Upon inspection the car appears to be generally sound although there are certain areas which would benefit from attention, particularly to the bottom of the nearside front door, and the boot fit is poor. The paintwork has also been scratched along the nearside wing and doors. Chrome wire wheels are fitted and the brightwork is in satisfactory condition. The interior has green leather trim with green headlining and door panelling and the woodwork along the door cappings and dashboard would benefit from some attention. The car has a manual gearbox with overdrive fitted and the underbonnet area appears to be sound and tidy although on the day of inspection we did not drive the car. The file of paperwork accompanying the car details the recorded history as well as various other work attended to over the years. It carried an MoT until January 22nd and comes with an Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook and a V5 registration document. This car is being sold on behalf of Mr. Richard Ross lead singer of Deacon Blue, the pop group. Funds from the sale of the car are going to Edinburgh Direct Aid, which was established in the autumn of 1992 to provide valuable medical aid, food and clothing in conjuction with the United Nations for Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia. These volunteers have full High Commission for Refugees approval and are a totally charitable organisation. NO RESERVE
