The Morris Family Pair of Chippendale Carved and Figured Mahogany Side Chairs, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, circa 1775 Chairs numbered II and V; a label attached to back seat rail reads This Chippendale chair one of a pair in Gen. Washington's room at James Morris' at Dawesfield during his encampment there, Nov.1777. Owned by Edith Meade Francine. They retain a dry historic finish and they appear to retain their original seat frames. height 38 in. (96.5 cm)
