THE LOOCKERMAN FAMILY CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY CHEST- ON-CHEST Case attributed to Thomas Affleck (1740-1795); carving attributed to Hercules Courtenay (1744-1784), Philadelphia, circa 1770 In three sections: the molded, broken-scroll pediment terminating in stylized leaf-carved rosettes centering a floral, leaf and fruit carved urn cartouche above a pierced latticework scrollboard over dentiled and blind-fret carved friezes; the upper case with three short thumbmolded drawers above two similar short drawers over three similar graduated long drawers all flanked by fluted quarter-columns; the lower section with a stepped mid-molding above three similar graduated long drawers flanked by fluted quarter-columns, on a molded base with ogee bracket feet, appears to retain its original fire-gilt brasses 106in. high, 45in. wide, 23in. deep
