Date: 1896 Description: 145 pp. 7½x5¼, original gilt-lettered wrappers. First Edition. Interesting reminiscences of considerable rarity, for it is alleged that virtually every copy in the edition was destroyed by a fire in the printing office, as noted in the Braislin catalogue. Braislin 340; Graff 609; Howes C186; Rader 609. Lot Amendments Condition: Some rubbing to wrappers, wear to extremities, spine repaired with clear tape; contents browned and brittle, chips to gutters of early leaves from the staple binding, a few ink names, very good overall, a fragile book, set in custom-page half morocco casel.
