Translated by Alexander Pope With ornaments designed, engraved and composed for this edition by and under the supervision of Rudolph Koch & Fritz Kredel. 26.5x15 cm (10½x6"), full brown niger morocco, spines lettered in gilt, raised bands, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, others untrimmed. Printed by Joh. Enschede en Zonen, Haarlem. Nos. 40 of 1450 and 51 of 1300 copies, respectively. A handsome en-face edition from Nonesuch Press with original Greek on rectos and Pope's celebrated translations (1715 and 1725 respectively) on versos. Provenance: From the collection of Robin and Marsha Garces Williams. Condition: Some natural discoloration to the leather, as normal, a touch of rubbing to extremities, Odyssey spine darkened a bit; near fine.
