Volumes II-IV. 335, [1], lxii (appendix); 469; 538, xv (appendix), [1], [1] (errata) pp. Folding chart. (4to) 8¼x5, leather with gilt-lettered morocco spine labels. First Edition. Volume IV was a collaboration written by Skelton Jones and Louis Hue Girardin (and printed by M.W. Dunnavant), and is the scarcest as "most copies of that volume were burned," -Howes B971. Lot Amendments Condition: Spines worn, heavily rubbed leather, scratches and some tearing of surface; endpapers with short tears or small chips; contemporary ink name on title page of each; moderate to heavy foxing throughout; good.
